Day 17: Family Fun

Today we spent a leisurely day in Goshen and Bristol Indiana. We started the day by sleeping in until 9am! That's the latest we've slept on this whole trip but since we are on east coast time now, we are having trouble heading to bed before midnight. This may come back to bite us in a few days....

We checked out downtown Goshen and found a lovely courthouse.
There's even an old police booth that was built in the late 1930's to protect the banks from robber John Dillinger. You can read more about it here. http://lincolnhighwaygoshen.blogspot.com/2008/12/goshen-police-booth.html?m=1
Isn't history fascinating?
After strolling through Main Street and checking out the local antique shops, we hung with family and BBQ'd burgers. Emily made what Aunt Kathy called scalloped tomatoes but to us it seemed like a reconstructed bruschetta.
It tasted great! The kids had fun with their cousins and of course played video games. This is how cousins play these days. No more hide 'n seek in the dark like we used to play. They had fun and got to know their cousins better. Sweet times.
Silas really liked the hat we got him in San Antonio. Made my heart melt to see him wearing it all night.

Not much better than family, food, and fun. We are blessed!
